AC Infinity CLOUDPLATE T9- Quiet Rack Cooling Fan System

Category: Accessories
Three Fans Up Top to Carry the Rack's Heat Away
The AC Infinity CLOUDPLATE T9 is a 3U rack fan system that mounts in any standard 19-inch rack and exhausts warm air out through the front panel. Three 120 mm fans move 60 to 300 CFM across six speeds at 12 to 38 dBA. An LCD thermostat and a corded temperature probe run them.
It is the exhaust half of a two-fan plan. Mount it near the top of the rack, where the heat gathers, and it carries the warm air out the front. Add the intake version at the bottom and the rack breathes bottom to top.
At 5.25 inches tall and 2 inches deep it takes three rack spaces and almost no depth. The kit includes the fan unit, the probe, four mounting screws, wire ties and a 6-foot power adapter.
How a 3U Panel Cools a Whole Rack
Five Modes Behind One Small Display
AUTO mode is a thermostat. The fans start when the probe meets your set temperature and stop once it falls below by the buffer, set at 2, 4, 6 or 8°F. SMART mode steps the speed down one level per buffer step under the setting. SPEED mode fixes a level from 0 to 6.
An alarm temperature runs the fans flat out and beeps until the rack cools. Hold the Leaf button to lock the panel, or tap it to turn the display off while everything keeps running. Readings show in Fahrenheit or Celsius.
Aluminum Frame, Stainless Probe, 67,000-Hour Bearings
The three fans use PWM-controlled motors and dual ball bearings rated for 67,000 hours. Airflow runs from 60 to 300 CFM and noise from 12 to 38 dBA across six speeds. The frame is brushed black aluminum with CNC-machined corners. The 6-foot stainless probe reads the rack where the heat collects. Power draw is 12 watts.
Who Is This Rack Cooling Fan Best For?
- Owners of a hot home theater rack — up to 300 CFM leaving the top of the rack keeps amplifiers and processors out of thermal protection
- Listening rooms where fan noise matters — at 12 dBA on the low speeds the fans sit below room noise, and SMART mode only spins them up when the probe says so
- Shallow racks and furniture-style stands — two inches of depth behind the rails fits where deeper fan panels will not
- Racks left unattended — the high-temperature alarm and check-fan alert flag a problem before the equipment does
- Your components sit on open shelves — the CLOUDPLATE T9 bolts to 19-inch rack rails and does nothing on a shelf. For gear on shelving, AC Infinity AIRCOM component fans sit on top of the component instead
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Bolt the CLOUDPLATE T9 into an open 3U space near the top of the rack with the four screws. Plug the adapter into the POWER jack and a wall outlet. Plug the probe into the PROBE jack and tie its head near the hottest component, away from the fans. Press Mode until AUTO shows and set your start temperature.
A daisy-chain cord, sold separately, lets the EXT port run a second CLOUDPLATE from this one controller.
Pairs Well With
The CLOUDPLATE T9 looks after everything else in the rack:
- Audio racks — the 19-inch racks and rack-style stands the CLOUDPLATE mounts into
- Multi-channel amplifiers — the hottest thing in most home theater racks
- Home theater receivers — keep the processor cool and the protection circuit quiet
- Power conditioners — clean power and a spare outlet for the fan adapter
Frequently Asked Questions
What comes in the box?
The 3U fan unit, the corded 6-foot temperature probe, four rack screws, wire ties and a 6-foot power adapter.
Where in the rack should it go?
Near the top. Warm air rises, and an exhaust fan up high carries it out. Blank panels over empty rack spaces keep the air moving through the gear instead of around it.
Where does the probe go?
Tie the probe head near your hottest component and away from the fans themselves. That way the controller reacts to the equipment, not to its own airflow.
What is the warranty?
AC Infinity covers the fan unit for two years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.
