One Rack Unit of Quiet, Thermostat-Controlled Exhaust

The AC Infinity CLOUDPLATE T5 is a 1U rack fan system that mounts in any standard 19-inch rack and exhausts warm air out the rear. Its fans move 40 to 180 CFM across six speeds at 9 to 32 dBA. An LCD thermostat on the front panel runs them from a corded temperature probe.

At 1.75 inches tall it takes one rack space, the same as a blank panel, and reaches 13.5 inches into the rack. AC Infinity built it for audio, home theater, studio and network racks where the gear is packed tight and the fans have to stay quiet.

Mount it near the top of the rack, where heat collects, so the rear exhaust carries the warm air out. The kit includes the fan unit, the probe, four mounting screws, wire ties and a 6-foot power adapter.

How a 1U Panel Cools a Whole Rack

Five Modes Behind One Small Display

AUTO mode is a thermostat. The fans start when the probe meets your set temperature and stop once it falls below by the buffer, set at 2, 4, 6 or 8°F. SMART mode steps the speed down one level per buffer step under the setting. SPEED mode fixes a level from 0 to 6.

An alarm temperature runs the fans flat out and beeps until the rack cools. Hold the Leaf button to lock the panel, or tap it to turn the display off while everything keeps running. Readings show in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Aluminum Frame, Stainless Probe, 67,000-Hour Bearings

The fans use PWM-controlled motors and dual ball bearings rated for 67,000 hours. Airflow runs from 40 to 180 CFM and noise from 9 to 32 dBA across six speeds. The frame is brushed black aluminum with CNC-machined corners. The 6-foot stainless probe reads the rack where the heat collects. Power draw is 8 watts.

Who Is This Rack Cooling Fan Best For?

  • Owners of a full audio or theater rack — heat that pooled at the top of the rack leaves through the back, so amplifiers and processors stop cooking each other
  • Listening rooms where fan noise matters — at 9 dBA on the low speeds the T5 idles below room noise, and SMART mode keeps it there until the rack warms up
  • Racks with no spare space — the T5 needs just one rack unit, so it fits where a 3U fan panel never could
  • Racks left unattended — the high-temperature alarm and check-fan alert flag a problem before the equipment does
  • Your components sit on open shelves — the T5 bolts to 19-inch rack rails and does nothing on a shelf. For gear on shelving, AC Infinity AIRCOM component fans sit on top of the component instead

How Does It Connect to Your System?

Bolt the T5 into an open rack space near the top with the four screws, exhaust to the rear. Plug the adapter into the POWER jack and a wall outlet. Plug the probe into the PROBE jack and tie its head near the hottest component. Press Mode until AUTO shows and set your start temperature.

A daisy-chain cord, sold separately, lets the EXT port run a second CLOUDPLATE from this controller.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in the box?

The 1U fan unit, the corded 6-foot temperature probe, four rack screws, wire ties and a 6-foot power adapter.

Where in the rack should it go?

Near the top. Warm air rises, and a rear-exhaust fan up high carries it out. Blank panels over empty spaces keep the air moving through the gear.

Where does the probe go?

Tie the probe head near your hottest component and away from the fans themselves. That way the controller reacts to the equipment, not to its own airflow.

What is the warranty?

AC Infinity covers the fan unit for two years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.
