Pick the Exhaust Your Cabinet Needs and Let the Receiver Breathe

The AC Infinity AIRCOM S-series is a family of component cooling fans. Each one sits on top of a receiver, amplifier or other AV component and moves the heat out of the cabinet. Each has a two-button controller, dual-ball bearing fans or blowers, a steel chassis 1.5 inches tall and a 6-foot power adapter.

Four versions are on this page. The 12-inch AIRCOM S7 exhausts through its top at 140 CFM. The 17-inch S8 exhausts out the rear at 160 CFM, the S9 through its top at 210 CFM, and the S10 out the front at 160 CFM. Rated noise runs from 19 to 24 dBA.

Pick by two things: the width of the component, and where your cabinet lets air out. A closed back wants front exhaust, open shelving suits top exhaust, and a rear vent panel suits rear exhaust.

How the Thermal Trigger Does the Thinking

Four Modes and Four Speeds From Two Buttons

Mode cycles through ON, AUTO, SMART and OFF. In AUTO the fans start at 88°F and stop at 84°F. In SMART they slow one step for every 2°F below 88°F, so a warm cabinet gets a whisper and a hot one gets full airflow. Speed sets one of four levels. Settings survive a power outage.

Silicone Mounts and 67,000-Hour Bearings

Every fan or blower uses a PWM-controlled motor and dual ball bearings rated for 67,000 hours. Silicone mounts keep vibration out of the enclosure. The 12-inch S7 supports 10 pounds on top; the 17-inch S8, S9 and S10 support 30 pounds. Power draw is 5.2 watts for the S7 and 8.8 watts for the three larger models.

Who Is This Component Cooling Fan Best For?

  • Owners of a hot-running AV receiver — up to 210 CFM pulled through the vents, so thermal shutdowns stop interrupting movie night
  • Amplifier owners short on shelf space — the rear- and front-exhaust models carry up to 30 pounds on top, so an amp stays cool without taking a second shelf
  • Anyone who values quiet — 19 to 24 dBA at full speed, and slower SMART speeds below 88°F, mean you hear the movie, not the fan
  • Set-and-forget users — the trigger points and speeds are built in, so nothing needs an app, a probe or a schedule
  • Your gear sits in a fully closed cabinet — every AIRCOM needs the warm air to leave the cabinet, so they belong on open shelving or in a vented cabinet. If yours is sealed, an open rack from our audio racks gives the same gear room to breathe

How Does It Connect to Your System?

Plug the adapter into a wall outlet or a power conditioner, then into the jack on the back of the fan. Set the AIRCOM on top of the component with its exhaust pointed where your cabinet lets air out. Press Mode for AUTO or SMART, then Speed to pick a level.

No wiring, no software, no drilling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AIRCOM S model do I need?

Match the width first: the 12-inch S7 for compact gear, the 17-inch S8, S9 or S10 for full-width components. Then match the exhaust to your cabinet: rear for a rear vent, top for open shelving, front for a closed back.

What comes in the box?

The fan system you choose and a 6-foot power adapter for a standard wall outlet. Nothing else is needed.

Does my cabinet need ventilation?

Air has to get out. Open shelving, an open-back cabinet or a cabinet with vents all work. The exhaust direction you choose should point at the opening.

What is the warranty?

AC Infinity covers the fan system for two years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.
